IV session of the Children’s Parliament, the Parliament of Montenegro 19th November 2012

Representatives of MP’s clubs of the Parliament of Montenegro and the Government of Montenegro, as well as Mayors of Podgorica and Cetinje and a representative of UNICEF will answer the children’s questions upon the introductory words of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr. Ranko Krivokapić, and a speech of the Speaker of the Children’s Parliament.

IV session of the Children’s Parliament organized by the Parliament of Montenegro in cooperation with the Children’s Rights Centre of Montenegro, with the support from the offices of UNICEF and Save the Children, is to be held on Monday, 19th November 2012, starting at 12 o’clock, in the Plenary Hall of the Parliament.

Upon the introductory words of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr. Ranko Krivokapić and a speech of the Speaker of the Children’s Parliament, the following presentations will be held: “Overview of the state of children’s rights in Montenegro by the children” and “Social and educational inclusion from the point of a child with special needs”. After that, as planned, the representatives of MP’s clubs of the Parliament of Montenegro and the government of Montenegro, as well as Mayors of Podgorica and Cetinje and a representative of UNICEF will answer the children’s questions.

The Session will be attended by 42 elementary school students from 21 municipalities, which are representatives of the local children’s parliaments from Bar, Cetinje, Bijelo Polje and Podgorica and children’s parliaments from elementary schools in 17 cities of Montenegro. Representatives of domestic institutions and international organisations which deal with children’s issues, as well as members of the diplomatic corps are invited at this Session.

The IV Children’s Parliament is organised on the occasion of the 20th November, the Day of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and this year it is dedicated to promotion of children’s rights to participate and advocate, as significant social needs and values.
