Eighteenth meeting of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants held

The Committee gave a positive opinion on the proposal for the appointment of Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Portugal and the Kingdom of Spain, Ambassador of Montenegro to the Kingdom of Sweden, the Republic of Finland, the Kingdom of Norway and the Kingdom of Denmark and the Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Greece.

Members of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants of the Parliament of Montenegro, considered the following during today’s meeting: Proposal Mr Željko Perović to be appointed as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Portugal and the Kingdom of Spain, on a non-residential basis, based in Podgorica; Proposal Mr Miroslav Šćepanović to be appointed as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Montenegro to the Kingdom of Sweden, the Republic of Finland, and the Kingdom of Denmark on a non-residential basis, based in Podgorica and Proposal Petar Popović to be appointed as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Montenegro to the Hellenic Republic, on a residential basis, based in Athens.

Candidates for positions of ambassadors informed members of the Committee on importance of their future missions as well as challenges and plans during their upcoming mandates.

Following exposes and presentation of candidates for ambassadors, MPs stated their positions and view about proposed candidates.

Members of the Committee, following the conversation with candidates for ambassadors, supported by a majority of votes i.e. unanimously the proposal for their appointment, giving a positive opinion on the basis of their professional, working and expert abilities – all of which recommended them for those functions; the Committee would inform the President of Montenegro on that.
