Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants receives Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of Hungary

Hungary strongly supports Montenegro’s membership in the European Union and NATO Alliance

Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants Mr Miodrag Vuković today received Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of Hungary Mr Zsolz Németh.
Vice President Mr Miodrag Vuković stressed that relations between Montenegro and Hungary were very good and friendly, improved continuously and upgraded through meaningful cooperation in all fields and intensive political dialogue, reminding that the quality of two relations was, inter alia, mirrored in the strong support that Hungary was providing in achieving the key national interest of Montenegro - acquiring the full-fledged membership to NATO Alliance.
President Vuković informed his interlocutor on the results achieved in implementing the reforms aimed at receiving invitation for NATO membership, which would contribute to establishing of permanent stability and strengthening preconditions for further economic development and progress of Montenegro, improvement of rule of law and democracy, human and minority rights and quality of living of every citizen and overall society.
President Vuković expressed gratitude for the continuous support that Hungary has been providing to Montenegro in the process of  European and Euro-Atlantic integration, which has a positive significance in the year in which the invitation for full-fledged NATO membership is expected.
Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of Hungary Mr Zsolz Németh emphasised that Montenegro had a full support of Hungary  in the process of achieving its major strategic and political goal - joining the European Union and NATO Alliance, and on that occasion praised results achieved in integration processes.  Mr Zsolz Németh pointed out the importance of maintaining the positive trend in implementing reforms, noting that NATO was a guarantee of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Montenegro. Additionally, Mr Zsolz Németh stressed that integration to NATO was not an easy path, but that Montenegro had made good and measurable progress on that path, expressing confidence that at the next meeting of the Ministerial Conference of NATO Alliance in December a positive decision on Montenegro’s membership will be reached, thus our country would become a partner to the major world forces.
The participants agreed that intensifying of parliamentary cooperation was a very important process of strengthening democratic and friendly relations between Montenegro and Hungary.
Members of the Committee MPs - Mr Mićo Orlandić, Mr Nikola Gegaj and Mr Jasmin Sutović attended the meeting and actively participated.
