He finished primary school and gymnasium in Titograd. Graduated from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Skopje in 1975. Obtained MS degree at the Faculty for Materials and Metallurgy in Ljubljana in 1986 and PhD degree at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Belgrade in 1989.  

From 1976 to 1986 he worked at MZT – Skopje, at various management positions. In the period while he was a director of the factory, it was pronounced to be the best industry organisation in SFRY and in 1986 it won the AVNOJ award. 

From 1986 to 1990 he worked at the Institute for Technical Research in Podgorica, at the position of the Head of HTM Bureau.  

Since 1990 he has been working at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology in Podgorica, where he was elected senior lecturer, associate professor and full professor for the following subjects: Heat treatment, Special metal materials, Surface engineering and Phase transformations. He was the Head of the Department for Physics Metallurgy, Head of the Postgraduate studies and Vice-President of the Senate of the University of Montenegro. 

He is and author and co-author of more than 200 scientific papers, presented at prestigious conferences and congresses, and published in leading worlds scientific magazines from SCI list, such as “Materials Science and Technology”, “Journal of Engineering and Performance”, “ISIJ International”, “Materials and Technologies” etc.

He participated in and managed more than 30 scientific research and development projects. He is and author and co-author of 5 university textbooks and holder of 3 patents. He was a mentor on a few dozen successfully defended graduate, MS and PhD thesis. He attended specialisations in Japan, England, Germany, Russia, Italy, Czech Republic, etc. In 2004, the International Bibliographic Centre in Cambridge awarded him for extraordinary results in the field of technical sciences and listed him as a leading world’s scientist.

Since 1990 he has been an active member of anti-war, anti-regime and pro- democratic block, by writing numerous texts, petitions and by participating in many gatherings. He was a high official of the Liberal Alliance of Montenegro (LSCG). He is one of the founders of the Group for Changes and Vice-President of the Movement for Changes. He was the MP in 23rd and 24th Convocation of the Parliament of Montenegro, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on European Integrations and Foreign Affairs, member of NSEI, and member of the Committee on International Relations and European Integrations and Commission for Monitoring and Control of the Privatisation Procedure as well as Head of the MP Group of the Movement for Changes in 24th Convocation.  

In 25th Convocation of the Parliament of Montenegro, he is the Vice-President of the Parliament and MP of the Movement for Changes within the coalition Democratic Front.  

Married, wife Natka - architect, daughter Ljiljana- Specialist in neurology and PhD student and son Petar- MA student of banking.
