Security and Defence Committee holds its 56th meeting

Multiple items of the agenda considered

At its 56th meeting, the Security and Defence Committee considered, in the presence of the proposer, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on deployment of the Armed Forces of Montenegro units to the international forces and participation of members of civil defence, police and public administration employees in peacekeeping missions and other activities abroad.

Following the discussion, the Committee proposed to the Parliament, by a majority of votes, to adopt the Proposal for the Law with two amendments by the Committee, and the representative of the proposer accepted those. Furthermore, the Committee held a consultative hearing of military and diplomatic representative of Montenegro Lieutenant Colonel Mr Mitar Klikovac, before assuming office of Defence Attaché in the United States of America on non-residential base as well as Defence Attaché for Canada and Iceland on non-residential base. The Committee supported, by a majority of votes, activities presented by Lieutenant Colonel Mr Klikovac as priorities for military and diplomatic cooperation of Montenegro with the said countries.

In addition to the aforementioned, the Committee considered, in the presence of the proposer, amendments to the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Protection and Rescue.
