38th meeting of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports

At its 38th meeting held today, the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports considered amendments to the Proposal for the Law on Higher Education. 

The Committee members voted on 26 amendments. Out of total of 21 amendments of the group of MPs from Democratic Front, the Committee supported and the Government accepted amendment 1, thus making it an integral part of the Proposal for the Law. The Committee decided to propose to the Parliament to also adopt amendment 18.

The Committee considered amendments 1 and 2 of the MP Andrija Popović, which did not obtain the necessary majority of the Committee votes, and the Government also did not accept these amendments. With regard to additional harmonisation, the Committee postponed consideration of four amendments of the MP Popović.

Two amendments of the MP Srđan Perić and one amendment of the MPs Srđan Perić and Goran Tuponja, MPs of Positive Montenegro, did not obtain the necessary majority of the Committee votes. These amendments were not accepted by the representative of the proposer of the law as well.
