Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Suljo Mustafić received today newly-appointed Head of the European Union Delegation to Montenegro Mr Aivo Orav. The Vice President thanked for the official visit and congratulated to the guest for undertaking the duty of the Head of the European Union Delegation to Montenegro.

Mr Mustafić stressed that Montenegro has achieved a significant progress in the field of Euro-Atlantic integration, undertaken important legislative steps and achieved continuous progress in the field of building institutions, particularly in the field of the rule of law.

- The role of the Parliament of Montenegro is very important for all of the aforementioned, because the Parliament represents a space of different political events. Political dialogue that resulted in the establishment of the Government of Electoral Trust is particularly important, because the opposition has obtained the possibility to control important state institutions. I believe that such approach would result in more trust in the election process with undisputed outcome of the elections, Mr Mustafić said.

He also emphasised that the Bosniak Party, to which he belongs, gave a significant contribution during the political dialogue, as well as during all earlier positive and reform processes in Montenegro.

They jointly noted that Montenegro’s previous achievements obliged it to continue with principled policy of fulfilling criteria for full-fledged membership in the European Union.
