Polish support to Montenegro on its path to EU highlighted

Discussion completed on three items of the agenda 

Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration of the Parliament of Montenegro, in cooperation with the NGO Civic Alliance, Constitutional Court of Montenegro, Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro and the Embassy of the Great Britain to Montenegro, to host the Conference organised on the occasion of marking 800 years of the adoption of Magna Carta Libertatum 

The visit is a part of the project “Open Parliament”

At the 51^st meeting, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms, of the extended composition, considered the 2014 Performance Report of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro, with the participation of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro, representatives of relevant state authorities, the EU Delegation to Montenegro and NGOS dealing with issues of human rights, in the function of the oversight role of the Parliament.

Representatives of the CE were interested in the relationship between the Parliament and local authorities, and whether there were a sufficient number of mechanisms for transferring certain tasks from the central to the regional level

Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Suljo Mustafić met with the Delegation of co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, headed by Ms Gaye Doganoglu and Mr Henrik Brade Johansen, who are staying in Montenegro within the monitoring visit aimed at assessment of the state of local democracy.
