“Education, a significant mechanism in combating terrorism, extremism, and fundamentalism”

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić will traditionally lay down the wreath at the Mausoleum of Petar II Petrović Njegoš on Lovćen, in the honour of the Independence Day of Montenegro – 21 May. President Krivokapić will also host a roundtable titled “Gathering at the Thrashing Floor” on the topic of “Membership to NATO – stamp on Montenegrin independence”

Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms held the 50th meeting today on the subject of the "Importance of investing in preschool education for all children in Montenegro", coorganised with the UNICEF Montenegro office

On day two of the visit to Hungary, where President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić is participating in the Spring Session upon the invitation of President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Mr Michael Turner, Mr Krivokapić met Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Mr László Kövér, Deputy Prime Minister Mr Zsolt Semjén and Minister of Defence Mr Csaba Hende.  

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić has received an open letter from Mr Boutros Boutros-Ghali, former UN Secretary General, concerning the Long-Term Lease Agreement Relating to Lastavica Island with Fortress “Mamula” in Herceg Novi. 

At today’s press conference on the occasion of completion of campaign “Men’s League against Violence against Women”, the results of the campaign were presented by: Chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee Ms Nada Drobnjak, Ambassador of the USA to Montenegro Ms Margaret A. Uyehara, Executive Director of the NGO NOVA Feminist Culture Centre Ms Nataša Nelević and one of the promoters of this campaign Mr Danilo Marunović.

At its 55th meeting held today, the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports did not consider the following: Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Higher Education; Proposal for the Law on Supplement to the Law on Primary Education, and Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the General Law on Education, because the meeting was not attended by proposers of the laws.
