Secretary General of Parliament of Montenegro Mr Siniša Stanković talks to students of Primary School “Milan Vukotić” from Podgorica within parliamentary programme Democracy Workshops “Barbara Prammer”

Through conversation with the Secretary General, the students of the Primary School “Milan Vukotić” had the opportunity to acquire new knowledge on democracy, organisation of the Parliament, as well as the division of power.

Secretary General of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Siniša Stanković today participated in the work of Democracy Workshops “Barbara Prammer” on the topic “Democracy and the Parliament”, where he talked to students of the class VII-2 of the Primary School “Milan Vukotić” from Podgorica. Answering the children’s questions, the Secretary General informed the participants of the workshop on his work and the work of the Parliament of Montenegro, and brought the democratic values, the significance of participating in a democratic society, and the significance of the division of power in a democracy closer to the children.

Mr Stanković said to the children to commit themselves to education and pointed out, based on their acquired knowledge, to form their own position and their opinion, to mutually respect each other, to honour and understand each other, because that was the only way to preserve the democratic values.

Since the beginning of implementation of the programme, on 8 October 2012, until today, the programme “Democracy Workshops” has gathered 13,048 students of primary schools in Montenegro.
