NATO PA Spring Session in Vilnius ends

Meetings of the Defence and Security Committee, Committee on the Civil Dimension of Security as well as the meeting of the Permanent Committee held

At the meeting of the Defence and Security Committee, the word was about the current situation in Afghanistan and actions of the International Community after 2014, consequences of the civil war in Syria and steps that should be undertaken by NATO in order to stabilize situation in this country, and growing militarization in Asia-Pacific region. In addition to the aforementioned, the word was about the ways of improving the concept of smart defence and the need to create platform to meet the development of new technologies.

Current political developments in Afghanistan, the situation in Ukraine and its impact on global security, the fight against terrorism, and internal and external challenges in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia were the topic of the meeting of the Committee on the Civil Dimension of Security.

Further, the meeting of the Standing Committee was held, thus ending the work of the gathering.

NATO PA Spring Session, held in the period from 30 May to 1 June 2014, gathered near 360 parliamentarians from North Atlantic Council and partnership countries.

Members of the Permanent Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the NATO PA Mr Borislav Banović and Mr Obrad Mišo Stanišić took part in the work of the gathering.
