On the first day of the Winter Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in 2013, MPs of the Parliamentary Assembly elected new Chairman of PACE, Mr. Jean-Claude Mignon (France EPP/CD).

Furthermore, after adoption of the Agenda, the proposal of the PACE Secretariat to include into the Agenda of the Winter Session following current topics: Deterioration of situation in Georgia, Migrations and Asylum: growing tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean, Development of the situation in Mali and Algeria and threat to security and human rights in Mediterranean region.

Montenegrin MPs also participated at the Meeting of the Group of Socialists.

The afternoon session of the Parliamentary Assembly will be marked by the statement of the President of Georgia, Mr. Mikhail Saakashvili, and in continuation of the working day members of Montenegrin delegation participated in the work of the following committees: Political Affairs and Democracy; Legal Affairs and Human Rights; Culture, Science, Education and Media and Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development.
