58th Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to Start Today in Prague

Members of the Parliament, Mr. Borislav Banović and Mr. Vasilije Lalošević, will participate in the work of 58th Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly as permanent members of the delegation.

The Parliament of the Czech Republic will host 58th Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, from 9th to 12th November, 2012. The Annual Session will bring together some 350 parliamentarians from the 28 NATO member countries from North America and Europe, delegates from partner countries and observers, with the aim to discuss common international security concerns and to consider and adopt reports.

During the Session, 10th and 11th November will be devoted to the meetings of NATO PA’s five Committees: Political, Defense and Security, Science and Technology, Civil Dimension of Security and Economics and Security. The concept of the sittings is based on discussing and adopting reports and political recommendations on topics from the field of security and defense, in addition to addresses of prominent speakers, representatives from governments, academies, NGOs and NATO.   

During the Plenary Session, planned for 12th November 2012, members of the Annual Session will be addressed by: Dr Karl A. Lamers, NATO PA President; Mr. Milan Stech, President of the Senate of Czech Republic; Ms. Miroslava Nemcova, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic; Mr. Petr Necas, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic; Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen, NATO Secretary General and Chairman of the North Atlantic Council; Mr. Filip Vujanović, President of Montenegro; Mr. Nebojša Radmanović, Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili, President of Georgia; Mr. Nikola Gruevski, President of the Government of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and  Mr. Egemen Bagis, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator of Turkey.
