Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will participate at the summer session, which will be held in Strasbourg, on 24-28 June 2013
A decision on a request for the opening of a monitoring procedure in respect of Hungary and a debate on tackling discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity – to be addressed by the Women’s Rights Minister of France Ms Najat Vallaud-Belkacem – are among the highlights of the summer plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The President of the European Parliament Mr Martin Schulz will address the Assembly as well as Mr Edward Nalbandian, Armenian Foreign Minister and Chair of the Committee of Ministers who will also answer to the MPs questions.
The topics of the discussion during the session will be “Religious persecution in Iran”, “The deteriorating situation in Georgia” and “Riots in Sweden: European immigration policy in the spotlight”.
In addition, the discussion during the session will be on the following: corruption as a threat to the rule of law, situation in the Middle East, keeping political and criminal responsibility separate, equal access to health care, putting an end to coerced sterilisations and castrations as well as Post-monitoring dialogue with “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia” and Evaluation of the partnership for democracy in respect of the Parliament of Morocco
The PACE will also deal with the election of judges to the European Court of Human Rights from Iceland, Lithuania, Slovak Republic and debate on the Draft Protocol No. 16 to the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
