Characterised as the most significant gathering of the representatives of national parliaments in the calendar of the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE, the 22nd Annual Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Office for Security and Cooperation in Europe (PA OSCE) will be held from 29th June to 4th July of this year.
During the Annual Session which will gather 323 parliamentarians from 57 countries, meetings of the general committees will be held: the General Committee on Political Affairs and Security; the General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment; and the General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions, in which, through the intensive four-day work, there will be a discussion on previously proposed texts of resolutions and additional items, which tackle the issues within the competencies of these three committees. Apart from the meetings of the three general committees, the Annual Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE will be also marked by the meetings of the Standing Committee, but also the Plenary Sitting in which the recommendations on the issues from the OSCE field will be considered and adopted, but also the new management of the Parliamentary Assembly.
The Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE was established in 1990 at the Summit in Paris, with the aim to promote a higher degree of involvement of national parliaments in the OSCE structures, and since then it has become an active and respectable part of OSCE family.
The Permanent Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE, consisting of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro and the Head of Delegation Mr Ranko Krivokapić, and the permanent members Mr Milutin Simović and Mr Goran Danilović will participate at the 22nd Annual Session of the Parliamentary Assembly.
