Fourth day of the 22nd Annual Session of the OCSE Parliamentary Assembly was marked by the three meetings of general committees, during which the discussion was ended as well as and voting on amendments to 26 (twenty six) resolutions and additional items, that the parliamentarians are to vote on as a whole at the tomorrow’s plenary meeting. During the meetings of the Committee on Political Affairs and Security, Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment and Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions, new leadership was elected – chairpersons, vice-chairpersons and rapporteurs.
The plenary meeting was held today, during which four resolutions were adopted, namely: Resolution on Freedom of the Media, Resolution on the Humanitarian Crisis in Syria, Resolution on Intercountry Adoptions and Resolution on Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings.
During the plenary meeting, election of new leadership of the three general committees was verified as well as candidatures for election of the President and (six) vice presidents of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
At tomorrow’s meeting, parliamentarians will elect President and vice presidents of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly
Term of office of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President shall last for a year with the possibility of re-election, while three vice-presidents shall be elected for the period of three years, one of them for the period of two years and the other two for the period of one year.
Candidates for the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President are President of the Parliament of Montenegro and Head of Montenegrin Delegation to the OSCE PA Mr Ranko Krivokapić and Swedish Delegation member Mr Kent Harstedt.
The Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro is participating at the 22nd Annual Session of the OCSE Parliamentary Assembly, composing of: President of the Parliament of Montenegro and Head of Delegation Mr Ranko Krivokapić and standing members MPs Milutin Simović and Goran Danilović.
