A two-day seminar started in Podgorica today, titled “The e-Parliament in Action: best practices about ICT strategic planning, information security, mobility and cloud computing”. In cooperation with the European Centre for Parliamentary Research and Documentation (ECPRD), the Parliament of Montenegro organised the seminar for representatives of the parliaments of the ECPRD member states addressing the issues of information and communication technologies.
Opening the seminar, Assistant to the Secretary General of the Parliament of Montenegro Ms Nataša Komnenić pointed out that the seminar represented an opportunity to have a constructive dialogue on ICT solutions, contributing to higher efficiency and transparency of the parliaments, as well as an opportunity to exchange opinions on the significance of strategic approach to development of ICT system as a form of support to legislative process.
Today’s sessions included issues relating to links between ICT solutions and parliamentary priorities, implementation models, actors and users, and necessity between providing support and willingness of all interested parties to accept the novelties. The participants also discussed the aspects of mobility and advantages of cloud computing, which allow the MPs and parliamentary services to work at any place, any time, and using any device.
The seminar will continue tomorrow, when the participants will discuss the information security issues and their impact on parliaments.
