Chairperson of the Security and Defence Committee and a member of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants Mevludin Nuhodžić and a member of the Security and Defence Committee and the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants Borislav Banović take part in the Interparliamentary Conference on Common Foreign and Security Policy and Common Security and Defence Policy, held in Rome on 6 and 7 November 2014, under the Italian presidency over the Council of the European Union.
The conference was opened by the President of the Senate of the Republic of Italy Pietro Grasso and President of the Chamber of Deputies in the Parliament of the Republic of Italy Laura Boldrini. In their opening speeches, they expressed a desire to regain the confidence of citizens, shaken by the economic crisis and war events,in the idea of Europe founded on peace, stability and economic prosperity,.
On the first working day of the Interparliamentary Conference, following issues were discussed - regional and global challenges arising from the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as the priorities and strategy of the European Union in the framework of the Common Foreign and Security Policy and Common Security and Defence Policy, which was spoken by representatives of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.
On the second day of the conference, one of the topic will be a regional stability and enlargement of the European Union to the countries of the Western Balkans.
