Meeting of the Chairs of the Committee on Employment, entrepreneurship, Innovations and Social Issues of the EU and European Parliament Member States

In focus of the meeting topics relating to employment of youth, development of potential of small and medium enterprises and innovations in entrepreneurship.

Members of the Committee on Health, Labor and Social Welfare – MPs Mr. Zoran Srzentić, PhD and Ms. Ana Ponoš, participated at the meeting of the Chairs of the Committee on Employment, entrepreneurship, Innovations and Social Issues of the EU and European Parliament Member States, organized within the parliamentary dimension of semi-annual Irish Presidency, in Dublin on 28th and 29th April.

Within three sessions, strategies on prevention of unemployment of youth, development of potential of small and medium enterprises and innovations in entrepreneurship were discussed at the meeting.

During the discussion on the problem of increasing youth unemployment, the need for more intensive and effective implementation of the program "Guaranty for youth" was expressed, through which the EU Member States guaranteed to the young people under twenty-five years to offer a job or training within four months from the time termination of their previous employment. On this occasion, good examples of the implementation of this program in Finland, Sweden and Austria were noted and praised.

MP Ms. Ponoš, within the third panned with the topic: “Innovations in Entrepreneurship”, touched upon opening of green jobs as important potential for Montenegro, but also for the EU Member States and energy import reduction.

Green job represent potential in employment in the future, and by development of this area both economy and employees may benefit from, since green economy may be sustainable in two manners – for environment and for innovations, employment and rebuilding of economy”- said Ms. Ponoš.

Participants were addressed, among others, by Mr. László Andor, Commissioner for Social Affairs and Inclusion, Ms. Joana Burton, Lady Minister for Social Protection in the Government of the Republic of Ireland and Mr. Richard Bruton, Minister for Jobs, Entrepreneurship and Innovations.
