Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr BrankoRadulović, Professor, PhD will meet, during this week, with the leading figures from the field of energy, production and processing of aluminium in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. Meetings are planned with the Minister of Industry, Energy and Miningin the Government of Republic of Srpska Mr ŽeljkoKovačević, owner of the “Feal” company from ŠirokibrijegMr JozifBogdan, Director General of the “Aluminij” company from Mostar Mr Ivo Bradvica and owner of the “TLM-TVP” company from Šibenik Mr Marko Pejčinoski.

Vice President Radulović had a meeting today with the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Government of the Republic of Srpska Mr ŽeljkoKovačević. On this occasion, it was concluded that there was a series of very important issues from the field of energy where Montenegro and Republic of Srpska should be harmonised politically and professionally at the highest level, and those were priority issues that could enable fast and long-term development and economic benefits as well.

In addition, it was emphasised that the Power Utility of the Republic of Srpska, completely owned by the state, has been producing about 5500 GWh of electricity annually, which is more than 80 per cent than the total production of electricity in Montenegro. Basins of rivers Piva, Tara, Lim and Trebješica occupy both territories, thus it is necessaryto jointly harmonize the valorisation of hydro-energy potentials. On this opportunity, it was emphasised that the Republic of Srpska had significant energy potential through built thermal power plants with capacity around 3000 GWh, representing approximately overall energy capacities of Montenegro.

The issue of gas pipeline construction through Balkan, being one of the most important issues currently, was mentioned. It was highlighted during this meeting that the opinion about the gas pipeline "South Stream" from Russia and the Trans-Adriatic pipeline, which will transport natural gas from Azerbaijan to the West European market, would determine the investment in a specific part of the region and the possibility of building a gas plant and gasification of area.
