Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Branko Radulović visited one of the most prestigious companies in Europe in the field of aluminium processing

During the meeting they concluded that the complete aluminium industry in the region must be synchronised in a certain manner

Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Branko Radulović visited today the headquarters of the company “Feal” in Široki brijeg. The company “Feal” is one of the most prestigious aluminium processing companies in Europe, and for its business results in Europe in 2012, its owner Mr Jozo Bogdan was pronounced the most successful entrepreneur by the German Chamber of Commerce.

It was emphasised that this company deals with production of finished products for construction and industry, for railway transport, airline industry, solar energy systems, and shipbuilding on the basis of aluminium processing via pressing and other technologies. The annual production is cc 25.000 tons of finished products, and following the finalisation of investments at the end of this year, the production will reach 50.000 tons of finished products. The company “Feal” cooperates with the leading companies in the Europe and Asia, and in the next four years has secured business deals for achieving full production. It also began the production of electrical energy from the wind-generators while the investment in the wind park with the power of 36 MW is underway.

During the meeting it was concluded that the need for the semi-finished aluminium products for the process of pressing is incredibly high, that their price is higher than the price at the LME, that the extra allowance is $500 per ton compared to the price at the LME, and that the price of the finished product is even 10 times higher than the price of the semi-finished products. The problem of lack of products in the region makes the total production process more expensive and more difficult, so that the raw materials that are bought from the Saudi Arabia are even 10% more expensive compared to those that could be obtained from the region and the Aluminium Plant Podgorica (KAP). Due to this it was emphasised that KAP is necessary as a part of the total aluminium processing in the region, while the production of ingots needs to be replaced with semi-finished products, where one of the most significant products would be a homogenised billet.

In order to achieve competitiveness of production of KAP, “Feal” will be one of the most significant buyers of homogenised billets and other products.

“Feal” participated in construction of many prestigious buildings, malls, business facilities, airports in Europe and Asia. In Montenegro, it participated in construction of the building of the Government of Montenegro, TQ Plaza in Budva, the mall “Nikić” and many others.

It was concluded that the complete aluminium industry in the region must be synchronised in a certain manner, which is currently not the case. Additionally, they expressed expectations that there is room for work and development for any company, whether they deal with production of alumina, primary aluminium or the processing of aluminium.

The interlocutors pointed out their current needs: over 200.000 tons of finished aluminium products per year, and what is even now being invested in processing and finished products in a few years could reach the value of even 300.000 tons per year. In that direction they agreed to have the Vice President Radulović, the company owner Mr Jozo Bogdan, and a member of management Mr Ante Musa initiate forming of a regional association for aluminium production and processing.
