President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić spoke today with the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Italy Ms Anna Maria Cancellieri. Mr Krivokapić and Ms Cancellieri assessed that relations between the two countries are good and that there is room for further improvement of cooperation in numerous fields, especially in the field of strengthening the rule of law.

Mr Krivokapić emphasised that the Parliament of Montenegro dedicated special attention to strengthening the mechanisms of the control role of the Parliament, and that the process resulted in numerous control hearings of the representatives of the executive power before the parliamentary committees.

Ms Cancellieri assessed as very positive the progress in the parliamentary work and the active role of the Parliament of Montenegro in developing mechanisms of parliamentary oversight.
