“Departure of Mr Mirko Kovač is irreparable loss for Montenegrin and entire culture of South Slavic people. Mr Mirko Kovač was one of those rare people whose artistic greatness was united with moral excellence. Therefore, his legacy is double: both literary and ethical. In dire times of dissolution of the joint state, when many intellectuals sank into the mud of ethnic hatred, Mr Kovač was a beacon at which all true democrats and humanists looked hopefully. Mr Mirko Kovač's work will always remain a unifying legacy for all of us speaking the same language with four names. His art is additionally our joint contribution to the treasury of the great European culture"
