“Esteemed miners,

Today, when we mark 65 years of mining operations in Montenegro, we must together recall the times behinds us, when the miners played quite a significant role in the economic and overall development. We are also bound to this by your “bread with seven layers” earned by hard labour.

In the time after the World War II, Montenegro knew how to properly value your labour, knowledge and effort. Our time must provide you with better working conditions, greater safety, standards that apply in the developed countries of the EU, and the earnings worthy of your sacrifices.

The state must demonstrate that it is decisive and able to protect and valorise its natural resources in a sustainable manner, with a guarantee of protection of workers’ rights.
