The President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić spoke today with Mr Dirk Lange, Head of Unit for Montenegro within the European Commission’s Directorate General.

Mr Krivokapić and Mr Lange spoke on the current political topics with regard to the role of the Parliament in the integration process.

The interlocutors estimated that the Parliament was strengthening its oversight function, and that it represented a place for dialogue between the political actors. Mr Lange commended the consensus that the Parliament had reached by adopting the amendments to the Constitution and emphasised that it should continue in that spirit. During the conversation on Montenegro’s European integration, Mr Krivokapić and Mr Lange agreed that the rule of law remained one of the priorities of the country.
