„Founded in the bottom of the mountain Orjen, Herceg Novi has been, through centuries, a western gate of welcoming for casual and intentional visitors from three sides of the world.
Stairs, uphill and fortresses of Herceg Novi bear testimony of centuries of building up and development of our westernmost town. Herceg Novi has always known, with its almost 100 sacral objects, how to cherish different and diverse. Now, that is necessary more than ever for Herceg Novi and for Montenegro as well.
I deeply believe that Herceg Novi would be as firm as its city walls and towers in preserving antifascism values, and that it would be sentimental as mimosa in cherishing togetherness and multi-ethnic harmony.
Herceg Novi deserves to be back to a map of high-quality tourism offer where it had always belonged. I am certain that the future development of Herceg Novi must serve to its citizens through protection of the environment, cultural goods and heritage in the spirit of sustainable development.
On behalf of the Parliament of Montenegro and on my own behalf, I congratulate you the Municipality Day of Herceg Novi – 28th October.”
President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr. Ranko Krivokapić
