Cetinje has guarded the torch of Montenegrin freedom throughout centuries. That torch lit your city in burdened times during the end of the last century when citizens of Cetinje, by choosing the path of peace, progress and co-existence, fought another honorable battle for all of us.

That torch from Cetinje established the glorious dawn of May when we renewed independence and returned the name of Montenegro forever.

That is why Cetinje always had and will have a special place in the life of the state of Montenegro and all of its citizens.
