President of the Parliament received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić received today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria H. E. Mr Kristian Vigenin.

President Krivokapić and Minister Vigenin stated traditional friendly relations between Montenegro and the Republic of Bulgaria. Cooperation between the two states is in more active stage, particularly in terms of exchange of opinions in European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Krivokapić stated that he perceived the Republic of Bulgaria as the friend of Montenegro in the European Union. President Krivokapić emphasized the need for strengthening and activating the cooperation in parliamentary dimension, particularly in experiences of harmonizing Bulgarian legislation with the European acquis communautaire.

Interlocutors expressed pleasure over bilateral relations. The role of parliamentary diplomacy in integration processes has been stressed.

“Bulgarian experience in NATO integration is useful for Montenegro which strategically aspires to full membership in the Alliance and that means the safety of the stability in the region” said Krivokapić.

Vigenin pointed out that Montenegro was in active process of reforms through the EU and NATO membership negotiations, and that friendly and partner support of Bulgaria would be provided on that path.
