Appreciating our previous cooperation as presidents of the parliaments, based on friendship and respect, I am convinced that you will successfully meet challenges of the Minister of Interior.

In the negotiation process of accessing the European Union, the majority of obligations from the most demanding chapters 23 and 24 fall under competences of the Ministry of Interior. Our common goals are the rule of law and fight against corruption and criminal, thus I believe that our states, through partnering cooperation in those fields, will be efficient on the path of full-fledged membership to the EU.

During my last official visit to Serbia and honour that you did to me, as the only person from the Balkans who addressed the MPs in the National Parliament of the Republic of Serbia at a special meeting, I would like to remind you that I said then that every success of Serbia in the European path was the success of the whole region.
