Dear Mr. Krivokapic,

I congratulate you on the occasion of the 8th Congress of the Social Democratic Party of Montenegro, which also marks the jubilee of 25 years of existence of the SDP.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to join you on this important day due to our own preparations for the upcoming general elections in Turkey, to be held on 7 June.

 Over the years, in my various capacities as an MP, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe and now as Foreign Minister, I have witnessed with great satisfaction the progress that Montenegro achieved on its path of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

 SDP has contributed greatly to this progress through its consistent policies advocating Montenegro's NATO and EU membership. That's why, I find the slogan that you have chosen for the Congress appropriate and I think it makes a very relevant statement about the significant role that your party and yourself have been playing in the political history of Montenegro.

I personally remember the able leadership that you have performed during your Presidency of the OSCE Parlimentary Assembly. As Montenegro enters yet another critical stage in its European and Euro- Atlantic integration process, I remain convinced that you, as a strong politician with years of experience in both internal and international politics, will continue to skillfully steer your party in the right direction.

My hope remains that all these efforts will bear fruit and that Montenegro will earn its well-deserved place in the European and Euro-Atlantic family soon.

SDP has also played a positive role in enhancing and deepening the friendship that exists between our countries. On that note, I would like to thank you once again for SDP's participation in the last Congress of AK Party, which we regarded as the solid proof of the fruitful cooperation existing between our parties.

 I am confident that SDP will maintain its significant place in the political life of Montenegro in the years to come, and will continue to work for a bright future of your beautiful country.

With these thoughts, I wish you and your party all the success for this important Congress and in your future efforts.
