President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Darko Pajović welcomed the news on initiation of the ratification process of the NATO Accession Protocol for Montenegro, emphasising that, by this act, the United States of America, for the umpteenth time, confirmed the continuous support to Montenegro in implementing foreign policy aims, which, inter alia, should ensure security of citizens and the state of Montenegro.

- After negative and tragic news from around the world during the last two days, particularly from Turkey, the news on initiation of the ratification procedure of the Protocol in the United States of America is good and positive news, President of the Parliament of Montenegro emphasised.

President Pajović said that the USA proved to be a sincere friend and reliable partner to Montenegro, and that by initiating the internal ratification procedures, which, as he believed, would be completed soon, it expressed willingness for earliest possible membership of Montenegro in the Alliance. In addition, by this act, the USA will send an additional incentive to other members of the Alliance, to initiate and complete internal procedures of ratification of the NATO Accession Protocol for Montenegro as soon as possible.
