"On this day we should all remember the indomitable spirit of our ancestors, the vision that they had left us as a legacy, and the strength to implement that vision. Today’s date is a day to remember, but also a day when we need to remind ourselves of the obligation and the responsibility we have before the future generations.

In the multi-ethnic unity and togetherness, we should all be joyous and celebrate, because 13 July symbolises two fundamental values upon which we rest, which are autonomy and antifascism. Upon these values we are built, these values we must protect, those values we must strengthen in the future.

The history of which we are proud therefore obliges us that our generation would one day enjoy the glory enjoyed by our ancestors. In order to earn that glory, we must create and foster a new vision for a new time. That vision must be the strengthening of unity, solidarity, and social justice, the uniting with progressive people of the West, but at the same time the preservation of our identity of which we are proud.

If we sleep today, tomorrow will not wait for us. Today we must be industrious so that tomorrow our children may live in a better and a more just society. May the glory of the past of which 13 July reminds us bring us hope, may it strengthen our will, and may it give us strength to make our Montenegro better and more successful."
