President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić held talks with the Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Mr Alex Petriashvili. The topic of the conversation was the current political moment in cooperation of Montenegro and Georgia, with special emphasis on common aspirations for membership to the European Union and NATO. Both states are currently in the phase of harmonisation of their legislations with European legislation and both states participate in the NATO Alliance. The interlocutors pointed out that Georgia may have multiple benefits from sharing experiences with Montenegro, and voiced hope that both states would get clear signals at the next NATO Summit.
President Krivokapić, as President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, was interested for the upcoming presidential elections in Georgia, which should be held in autumn.
