At the meeting held today, the Administrative Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro held a consultative hearing of eleven candidates for appointing one member of the Senate of State Audit Institution: Mr Omer Markišić, MA sci; Mr Predrag B. Mitrović, MA; Ms Milanka Aleksić; Mr Milan Radović; Mr Dragoslav Minić; Ms Biljana Vuksanović; Ms Neli Ćuković; Mr Željko Tomović; Ms Branka Lakočević; Mr Nikola N. Kovačević; and Ms Mila Kasalica, MA, while the candidate Mr Mirko Jovović announced his absence from this meeting.
The Committee established the Rules for consultative hearing for the purposed of appointing one member of the Senate of State Audit Institution, on which they informed the candidates. Following the individual introductions, the candidates answered the questions of the members of the Committee.
Members of the Committee were primarily interested in the candidates’ motives for applying to the Public Call, bearing in mind the fact that the candidates are performing important public functions. They were interested in the candidates’ vision of work of the State Audit Institution, actual proposals of candidates for achieving independence in the work of State Audit Institution and promotion of its work, as well as their readiness to process and initiate criminal liability, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on State Audit Institution.
Members of the Committee concluded that the CVs of the applicants are respectable and that any one of them can be worthy of the responsible function of being a member of the Senate of State Audit Institution.
The Committee decided to conduct the election of candidate for appointing the President and one member of the Senate of State Audit Institution on its next meeting, which will be held on 12 June 2013, starting at 11:00.
