Vice President of the Parliament Mr Suljo Mustafić and representatives of MPs groups: Ms Branka Tanasijević, Ms Draginja Vukasnović, Mr Emilo Labudović, Ms Zdenka Popović and Mr Srđan Perić received today the group of senior high school students of the Montenegrin American Youth Alumni Association (MAYAA).
On this occasion, the young got acquainted with rights and responsibilities of MPs, manner of organising and functioning of plenary sittings and meetings of working bodies. The young were particularly interested in the process of laws adoption and mechanisms for reaching decisions.
Prior to the meeting, students toured parliamentary building and saw parliamentary collections. At the end of the visit, high school students and university students followed the session of the Parliament of Montenegro from the Citizens Lodge.
The visit is organised within the project of celebrating the civic education week, within the programme that would give an opportunity to the select seniors from Montenegrin high schools and freshmen from the Montenegrin universities to, through lectures, visits the state institutions, media, and NGOs learn more about the development of democracy in Montenegro, civic activism, and the role that every active citizen in a society should perform, as well as the manner in which different subjects in Montenegrin society contribute to the development of the state.
The visit was held within the parliamentary programme “Open Parliament”.
