Member of the Parliament, Mr Andrija Popović, visited today Democracy Workshops "Barbara Prammer" of the Parliament of Montenegro and spoke to pupils of the 6th and 9th grade of the Elementary School "Mahmut Adrović", Petnjica
Pupils had the opportunity, through conversation with the MP Popović, to learn what democracy was, what values could contribute to building a democratic society, as well as how children could contribute to democracy.
The member of the Parliament Mr Popovićwas pleased with the opportunity given to talk to the children who were part of this program, and he expressed his belief that the generation they belonged and the ones to come would have the knowledge and opportunities to contribute to a democratic society.
When asked why the elections were important, the MP replied that elections allowed for the governance in parliamentary democracies, which proved to be the best form of government so far. The MP Popovićtold the students that, when they became of age and were able to exercise their right to vote, they first made sure they were well-informed about the programs of political parties and citizens they represented in the elections, in order to make the right decision.
Members of the Parliament, in their work, he pointed out, often made difficult decisions, and he expressed his belief that all MPs made decisions according to what they considered fair.
The member of the Parliament Mr Popović told the children that, to the extent possible, they engaged themselves in sports as much as possible, without neglecting other responsibilities and interests.
