The Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will hold a meeting with the Delegation of Secretariat of the Council of Europe on Monday, 14 October 2013, at 15:00, in the Red Room of the Parliament of Montenegro.
The Delegation of Secretariat of the Council of Europe, consisting of the Deputy Director of the Directorate for Political Council of the Council of Europe Mr Daniil Khoshabo, and the Advisors Ms Biljana Prlja and Mr Dario D'Urso, will be staying in Montenegro from 14 to 16 October 2013, on the occasion of compiling the next Report on Cooperation and the Honouring of Obligations and Commitments of Montenegro towards the Council of Europe. On that occasion, the meetings at the expert level will be organised, in order to compile the said Report as objectively as possible, which will be considered at the meeting of the Group for Democracy early next year, and after that at the Committee of Ministers.
This visit and the Report hold special significance considering that they are happening shortly before the official visit of Mr Thorbjørn Jagland, the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe to Montenegro, announced for 8 November 2013, as well as for the fact that the Report will be published before the compiling of the Report of the co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which will be considered at the plenary meeting of PACE, in June 2014.
The Draft Agenda of the visit of the Secretariat of the Council of Europe to Montenegro determines the meeting also with the following: Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Ministry for Human and Minority Rights, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, State Election Commission, Agency for Electronic Media, Media Self-Regulation Council, the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Montenegro for Human Rights and Protection against Discrimination, representatives of the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, and the Judicial Council, the Refugee Care and Support Office, and the Anti-Corruption Initiative Administration.
Cameramen and photo-reporters may record the beginning of the meeting, and after the meeting a press statement will be released.
