Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, will participate at the Winter Session, which is being held in Strasbourg, from 27 to 31 January 2014.
At this Session, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will elect its next president for a two-year term of office.
Austrian Chancellor Mr Werner Faymann and European Parliament President Mr Martin Schulz will address the Assembly, while President of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy Ms Laura Boldrini will participate in a joint debate on preventing racism and intolerance in Europe.
Additionally, Council of Europe Secretary General Mr Thorbjørn Jagland will also address the MPs, and Austrian Foreign Minister Mr Sebastian Kurz, Chairperson of the Committee of Ministers, will be answering parliamentarians’ questions.
The Magnitsky case, the impact of the internet on politics, and the integration of migrants in Europe will be among topics debated during the Winter Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). Additionally, other topics on the agenda include combating climate change, the partnership for democracy with the Palestinian National Council, and also the accountability of international organisations for human rights violations.
There has also been a request for an urgent debate on the functioning of democratic institutions in Ukraine, on the proposed agenda.
Montenegrin Delegation at the Winter Session will consist of the following: Mr Zoran Vukčević, PhD, Head of Delegation, and the members of Delegation: Ms Draginja Vuksanović, PhD; Mr Mladen Bojanić; Mr Predrag Sekulić, PhD; and Ms Snežana Jonica.
