On Day One of the PACE Winter Session in 2014, Ms Anne Brasseur (Luxembourg, ALDE) has been elected President of Parliamentary Assembly, winning 165 votes after round one, while her opponent Mr Robert Walter (United Kingdom, EDG) won 125 votes. The President of the Assembly was elected to serve a one-year term, renewable once.
Additionally, at today’s session, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe elected its Vice Presidents. Head of Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to PACE Mr Zoran Vukčević, PhD, was elected as one of the Vice Presidents.
The PACE Committees have also been formed today, and the MPs, members of the Montenegrin Delegation to PACE, are the members of the following: Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy, Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development, Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination, Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons, and Committee on Culture, Science, Education and Media.
Head of Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to PACE participated in the meeting of the PACE Bureau, while all the members of the Delegation participated in the meeting of the Socialist Group.
Montenegrin Delegation at the Winter Session consists of the following: Mr Zoran Vukčević, PhD, Head of Delegation, and the members of Delegation: Ms Draginja Vuksanović, PhD; Mr Mladen Bojanić; Mr Predrag Sekulić, PhD; and Ms Snežana Jonica.
