On day three of the Rose-Roth Seminar, the participants had a discussion on the topic “Brussels’ dialogue between Belgrade and Prišina: path forward”, and the discussion was moderated by Mr Karl A. Lamers, Chairperson of the Sub-Committee on NATO-Partnerships. On the occasion, participants of the meeting were addressed by: Mr Marko Đurić, Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija; Mr Dušan Janjić, Senior Researcher of Centre for Sociological Research, Institute of Social Sciences, University of Belgrade and Mr Krenar Gashi, doctoral fellow at the Centre for EU Studies, Ghent University and founding director of the Institute for Developmental Policy.
The continuation of the session was marked by a discussion focused majorly to finding mechanisms for the application of Brussels Agreement.
Upon the completion of the discussion on the topics, participants of the meeting summarised the results of the discussions lead during the seminar, assessing it as valuable, particularly since it provided an opportunity for sharing opinions and experiences, improving knowledge and creating a good basis for finding new solutions for current issues that were in focus of the discussion.
During three-day work, the gathering covered a wide spectre of topics, such as: Serbia’s accession to the European Union, regional cooperation forms with special emphasis to activities contributing to its promotion, fight against corruption and organised crime in the Western Balkans as well as Brussels dialogue between Belgrade and Priština. Additionally, special sessions during the gathering were devoted to common challenges that the countries have been facing with regard to fighters recruited to foreign battlefields and reform of defence management system and building of integrity.
88th Rose Roth Seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly gathered around 200 participants, namely parliamentarians from NATO and partnering countries, representatives of governments, international organisations, nongovernmental sector, university and representatives of the public opinion.
The gathering was organised by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
