Members of the Security and Defence Committee and Committee on International Relations and Emigrants met today with the NATO expert team, headed by Mr Laurie Walker, Head of Desk for Montenegro, regarding the evaluation of the Report on implementation of the Fourth Annual National Programme (ANP) within the MAP process.
At the meeting they spoke of Montenegro’s progress on its path toward the Euro-Atlantic integration, the role of the Parliament of Montenegro in this process, as well as the implemented reforms in the security and defence sector, with a special view to priorities and directions of action in achieving the foreign policy goals of Montenegro, as well as mechanisms and implementation of activities in the field of parliamentary oversight and work of the Security and Defence Committee and Committee on International Relations and Emigrants.
The participants in the meeting positively assessed relation and level of cooperation between Montenegro and the NATO alliance. In accordance with the above, they noted the significance of continuation of the reform process and full commitment of all institutions of the system necessary for achievement of the strategic goal of Montenegro, the full-fledged membership to the NATO.
