Members of Security and Defence Committee hold meeting with Vice Marshal of the Polish Sejm Mr Jerzy Wenderlich

Chairperson of the Security and Defence Committee Mr Mevludin Nuhodžić, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee Ms Snežana Jonica and members Mr Luiđ Škrelja, Mr Velizar Kaluđerović and Mr Darko Pajović today met Vice Marshal of the Polish Sejm Mr Jerzy Wenderlich. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Director of the International Affairs Bureau of the Polish Sejm Mr Bogdan Janowski and chargé d'affaires in the Embassy of Poland to Montenegro Mr Paweł Łącki.  

The meeting was focused on NATO integrations and security situation in the region, also covering topics such as: achieved results in the process of reforms of Montenegrin system of security and defence and the issue public support to Montenegro’s membership to the NATO. On the occasion, different opinions and vies were exchanged in the context of Euro-Atlantic integration. The participants emphasised the importance of conducting reforms for Montenegrin society as a whole, as well as the importance of continuous implementation of established priorities. It was assessed that Montenegro’s memberships to the NATO would contribute to overall stabilisation in the region, and with regard to that, it was highlighted that it was necessary to strengthen the support of the public through regular and adequate informing of citizens on advantages of the NATO membership.

Members of the Security and Defence Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro welcomed the support by the Republic of Poland in this process, considering it desirable and very important.
