Day three in the National Assembly of Serbia, which organised this year’s meeting of representatives Defence and Security Committees from SEE Parliaments, focused on the issues of floods, was marked by closing remarks of the following: Ms Teodora Fuior, Project Coordinator, Operations Southeast Europe Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), Mr Zdravko Jakop, Deputy Director, RACVIAC - Centre for Security Cooperation and Ms Ms Marija Obradović, Chairperson, Defence and Internal Affairs Committee, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
Three-day Conference ended with the adoption of the Joint Declaration.
At the conference, the following recommendations for the region were emphasised: the need to regulate relations among states of the region in the field of emergency situations, to adopt of regional strategy of fight against emergency situations, to form dedicated funds, and the need to modernise and implement prevention plans, form mobile teams to command and conduct joint exercises.
Parliamentary delegations and experts from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania, Austria. Romania, Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina took partin this year’s gathering, held in the period 29 June – 1 July of the current year.
