The conference, being held in the period 6-8 April in The Hague, within Dutch presidency of the European Union Council, will gather around 200 participants, namely: parliamentarians, high officials of the European Union and NATO, and foreign experts form the security and defence sector of the European Union member states.

The Inter-parliamentary conference is aimed at providing a framework for the exchange of information and best practice in the field of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), with a special focus on strengthening parliamentary cooperation and providing information to the national parliaments and the European Parliament on issues from the subject fields.
