On 1 and 2 July 2013, the members of the Committee on Security and Defence will participate at the Tailored Seminar in National Security Policy for Parliamentarians, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany), organised by the George C. Marshall centre.
The Seminar is aimed at strengthening the capacities of the Parliament of Montenegro for development and application of security and defence strategies at the national level, promotion of strategic dialogue, recognition and explanation of the role of institutions of the system in preventing conflicts and participating in missions, as well as promotion of transparency in the field of defence plans and policies.
The topics to be covered at the meeting will be: implementation of parliamentary oversight, role of the Parliament in foreign affairs, planning and controlling the funds in the defence sector, combating corruption and key issues in the NATO alliance.
