Thirtieth meeting of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget started a consultative debate (hearing) on the topic: “Implementation of the Law on NGOs regarding their funding”.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the following: Commission for Allocation of Games of Chance Revenue, Cooperation Council of the Government of Montenegro with the NGOs, NGO “Civic Alliance”, NGO “Institute Alternative”, coalition of NGOs “Saradnjom do cilja” (With Cooperation to the Goal), and NGO “PK Visokogorci”, in order to review in detail the issue of funding of NGOs and hear proposals on the manner of promotion of the system of funding the NGOs.

The invited guests analysed the provisions of the new Law on NGOs and pointed out that the centralised model of funding of NGOs did not take hold in practice due to, among other things, non-harmonisation of the Law on the Games of Chance with the Law on NGOs, as well as the failure to adopt the necessary secondary legislation.

It has been agreed that, following the debate, the Committee members, in continuation of the meeting, should establish the conclusions regarding the consultative debate (hearing).

The time of continuation of the 30^th meeting of the Committee will be subsequently determined.
