During the meeting, the participants spoke on the following: development of the internal revision in Montenegro, position of the State Audit Institution (SAI) in the legal system of Montenegro and its independence, cooperation of the Parliament of Montenegro i.e. the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget and the SAI, necessity for further strengthening of capacities of the two institutions as well as adoption of amendments to the Law on State Audit Institution.

During the meeting, the sides pointed out that it was necessary to provide conditions for the Audit body – responsible for revision of effectiveness and stability of managing system and controlling the EU funds (instruments of pre-accession, structural funds following Montenegro’s accession to the European Union and EU funds) – to work in full capacity.

Representative of the Directorate-General for Budget was informed on innovations expected through adoption of the Proposal for the Law on Budget and Fiscal Responsibility, possibility for shortening deadlines for submitting proposal for the Law on Final Budget Statement and Report on Audit of the Final Budget Statement of the Parliament of Montenegro, etc.
