Chairperson of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget Mr Aleksandar Damjanović participated in the Conference “Strengthening the Influence of the State Audit Institution in Montenegro”.

In the introductory part of the Conference, the speakers were: Mr Stevo Muk, Chairperson of the Executive Board of the NGO “Institute Alternative”; Mr Milan Dabović, President of the Senate of the State Audit Institution (SAI); Mr Aleksandar Damjanović, Chairperson of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget of the Parliament of Montenegro; Ms Ana Krsmanović, Director General at Directorate for Central Harmonisation at the Ministry of Finance; and Mr Marko Sošić, Public Policy Researcher at the NGO “Institute Alternative”.

The Conference, which was aimed at providing more information to the public on the work and competencies of the State Audit Institution, covered topics relating to the following: recommendations which the SAI provides in its reports; implementation of recommendations by the subjects of the audit; consideration of the SAI report in the Parliament of Montenegro, as well as following of implementation of SAI recommendations, which the Parliament of Montenegro adopts as conclusions during consideration of the final budget statement; promotion of cooperation between SAI and working body of the Parliament competent for budget affairs; activities of the Government, or the Ministry of Finance, regarding implementation of the said recommendations etc.
