At today's meeting, the Committee has considered the Proposal for the Law on Energy, which will ensure further harmonisation of Montenegro's legislation with the EU acquis in the energy field and with the Third Energy Package, and also transpose directives and regulations related to energy efficiency in production, transport and distribution of energy. The Law, inter alia, defines energy activities and the manner of their performance aimed at satisfactory and safe supply of end users, public service and other activities that are of public interest for Montenegro, including organisation and management of the market and conditions for providing incentives for energy production. The Committee agreed to vote on the Proposal for the Law in the continuation of the meeting.
Additionally, the Committee has considered and decided to propose to the Parliament to adopt the Proposal for the Law on Cross Border Trade in Electricity and Natural Gas as well as the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Protection of Topographies of Semiconductor.
