Members of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget will attend the First meeting of Parliamentarians from Energy Community member states – Friends of Energy Community, which will be held on 4 July 2013 in Vienna, organised by the Secretariat of Energy Community and the Regional Cooperation Council.

The meeting is aimed at informing the MPs from Energy Community member states on framework of operations and competencies of the Energy Community. By establishing cooperation with this institution, a direct approach to relevant information, significant for adopting laws that deal with the mentioned areas, is ensured.

The scope and history of the Energy Community, regional energy strategy and the key projects that are of interest for member states will be presented at the meeting. Additionally, the meeting will cover topics such as: social dimension of the Energy Community, directive on using the renewable energy sources, regulation of electric energy and gas, as well as directive on fuel supplies.
